How many young singer/songwriters also play electric violin, theremin and glockenspiel? A talented multi-instrumentalist, Clara Venice also writes and sings songs of real melodic charm, as is audible on this impressive debut EP. Her songs are often taken from classical music samples and remixed as electronica-laced pop. The lush-sounding disc was co-produced with Kevin Hearn (Lou Reed, Barenaked Ladies) and mixed by David Ogilvie (Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy). Venice is also renowned for strikingly visual multi-media performances. And here's a cool gimmick: the EP will be released as a wearable USB, the first recording ever to be produced this way. Venice launched the disc this week with a show at Toronto's Adelaide Hall.
